A New Dawn .....
I'm sitting at my desk with the sun streaming in through the window as it rises above the hills across my valley. This is a very new venture for me as I've never considered myself as a writer, in fact for most of my life I've avoided putting pen to paper and more recently finger to keyboard.
With good reason I hear you say!
Why am I doing this now?
Not sure, except that recently I've been getting an urge to write a blog. Unlike many of my urges ( doing my paperwork / housework / garden, getting fit enough to go trekking in the Himalayas -yes, honestly -) this one hasn't gone away -yet.
I think the huge difference this time is that no-one knows about this blog. Well obviously you do if you're reading this, but I'd love to hear how you found it (both meanings). I've decided not to tell anyone about it and see what happens. This makes it much easier to write.
I used to do a live call-in radio show. When I was asked to do it I was very doubtful, but was told that the great thing about radio is that you don't see the audience. It is a very intimate set up so you can talk into the mike imagining that you are speaking to just one person. This made it very easy. I did wonder if there really was only one person listening, but when I'd had what I thought was a very funny flight of fancy with my colleague I discovered there were many more!
Well, enough of this self-indulgence, better get back to the real world now.
Just one more thing (oh dear, am I getting hooked on writing now) why Wild Geese Calling?
If you've found me you probably already know why, but that's for next time.
Bye for now my cyber friend.
